Levitron

This is not a new concept. But I found it cool anyway.

The Levitron is a gadget that you can use to levitate a spinning top in mid air by using two oppositely charged permanent magnets. This nifty gadget/toy was named as one of the best science toys in a generation by the American Association of Physics Teachers.

Levitron has a spinning top which is stabilized above its magnetic base by using the gyroscopic effect that the spinning produces. It seems to be quite a challenge to get the top to spin and balance within the magnetic field.

Also, the base unit needs to be dead level so that the force field is kept vertical, and to that end the base unit has fully adjustable feet.

Wireless charger

This is a funky wireless charger for cellphones and the like from "Splashpowder", which enables you to power uo your device just by dropping it on a pad that looks like a mouse-pad called a "SplashPad™"

Basically, no physical connection is needed at all between the device and the pad. It's all wireless. And, you can also charge more than one device with it simultaneously. No need to look for all your different chargers and socket spaces to plug them into anymore!

Enough said, here's the site... SplashPowder

Surround sound for "cheap"

I found a cool looking surround sound system.

According to Gary Krakow, a columnist of MSNBC, this system is cheap for what it offers. The Panasonic's SC-HT680 system costs $250 dollars.

Looks pretty neat. What do you guys think?
